Appearance    (1), white to pale yellow solid; (2), colorless to pale yellow liquid.

Solubility    soluble in water, or slightly soluble in water. Soluble in ethanol.

Hygroscopicity    hygroscopic.

Stability    stable. Decomposition by high heat.

Risk    Solid form: flammable material; irritation, strong irritation to skin, eye, respiratory system. Harmful products of combustion are CO, CO2, nitrogen oxides and so on. Contact with strong oxidants, can cause to burn.

Maximum concentration is 0.1% (as benzalkonium chloride) in other products.
