Solubility    soluble in water.
Stability    stable in weak alkali, weak acid, hard water. Under strong acid or strong alkali, easily hydrolyze. Easily oxidized.

Synthesis
(1), Esterification reaction
Maleic anhydride reacts with ricinoleamido-MEA, obtain ricinoleamido-MEA maleate.
(2), Sulfonation reaction
Ricinoleamido-MEA maleate reacts with sodium bisulfite, then obtain this product.
