Structure

R: palm kernel oil group.

Properties

Appearance    (1), slightly yellow to yellow-brown liquid.

Solubility    slightly soluble in water (Pure substance); soluble in water (Associated body with diethanolamine). Soluble in ethanol.

Stability    stable. Easily oxidized.

Risk    Liquid form: flammable material; irritation, irritation to skin, eye, respiratory system. Harmful products of combustion are CO, CO2 and so on. Contact with strong oxidants, can cause to burn.

GHS (Rev.10) label:

Ecology    may be hazardous to environment. Water body should be given special attention.

Biodegradability    biodegradable.

Characteristics    excellent cleansing, emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, foaming, foam stabilizing, anticorrosive abilities.

Note    (1), Diethanolamine is a possible carcinogen (Group 2B, IARC).

(2), Diethanolamine reacts with nitrosating agents (for example, nitrite), can produce carcinogenic N-nitroso compounds.

(3), Be careful with using in children's products.

Synthesis

(1), Obtained that palm kernel oil reacts with diethanolamine.
